San Jose Costa Rica. Product of the Seventh Intermediate Meeting of Authorities of the Forum of the Civil Service of Central America and the Caribbean that was held on August 22, 2019, in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, it was agreed that the twentieth edition of the Forum will focus on The theme: The Future of Public Function in Central America and the Caribbean and will be held on January 15, 16 and 17, 2020 in the Dominican Republic.

Second, the XX Forum of the Public Function of Central America and the Caribbean will count as a guest country to the United Arab Emirates, UAE, with whom the Central American Institute of Public Administration, ICAP, Technical Secretary of the Forum has an inter-institutional cooperation agreement, specifically with the Ministry of State Affairs and the Future.

Likewise, the VII ICAP Award for innovation: “Towards good practices in Public Administration” that will be launched this Thursday will feature a special edition linked to the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

Alexander López, Director of ICAP, urged attendees to think about the type of institution desired for the future, taking into account that the institution is constantly changing directly affecting its structure and function, where if this is not expected situation, public institutions are condemned to a lag and collapse in the provision of public services.
